We pour a black SBR rubber surfacing over a scaled garage floor so the brine that drips off the car lands on rubber, not on concrete. Winters here hover at the freezing mark for weeks, so the slush that comes in off Thickson Road and the 401 melts on the floor, soaks into the concrete and freezes again that night. After enough of those nights the surface flakes off in coins and the pits hold grit.
Rubber surfacing is not scaled by salt. It drains, it does not hold a puddle, and it can be hosed out in spring like any garage floor.
